The 6th Sunday after Easter, Sunday of the Blind. ❤️✝️❤️
The Church, beloved by Christ, calls it the Sunday of the Blind, because it commemorates the miracle of the Savior’s healing of a man blind from birth. The Gospel tells us the following about this: In the last year of His earthly life, Jesus Christ was traveling from Galilee to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Dedication of the Temple. On the way, He saw a man blind from birth. He was a well-known beggar who was sitting in the street and begging for alms. The apostles asked Jesus about him: „Teacher, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?“ Christ answered: „Neither this man sinned nor his parents, but so that the works of God might be revealed in him.“ What work of God was to be revealed in this man blind from birth? The Lord will restore his sight. Now he will see what he could not imagine before; Now he will see the beauty of the world created by God, which will awaken in his heart a sense of humility and boundless gratitude to the One who restores his sight. Along with the opening of his visible, or earthly, eyes, the invisible, or spiritual, eyes will also be opened to him, and he will immediately recognize the Son of God, whose divine dignity he will unhesitatingly testify to before his enemies, the Pharisees and scribes.
